Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time itinerant teacher position is available for a professional skilled in working with students who are visually impaired. This role serves students across K-12 grade levels and involves working with a caseload of approximately 10 students, some of whom require sessions one to three times per week. The position is contract-based for the full school year and is located in Spring Hill, Tennessee.
Responsibilities include providing specialized services tailored to the needs of visually impaired students, conducting thorough assessments, developing and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and collaborating closely with general education teachers to create appropriate instructional materials. This role requires strong munication and organizational skills to ensure each students goals are met and progress is monitored effectively.
Qualified candidates should have experience working with visually impaired students in a school setting, familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs, and the ability to design instructional strategies that support student learning and inclusion. An itinerant teaching background with the flexibility to manage multiple student needs across different locations within the district is highly desirable.
