Southwestern Services, a General Retail Contractor, has a position for an energetic Safety Manager. This candidate will implement policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for Southwestern Services and our clients. The ideal candidate is a dedicated individual who adheres to and communicates state, and local regulations. This candidate will focus on preventive measures, requiring attentiveness and proactive thinking. Detail is essential, especially during emergencies. Responsibilities

  • Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks; ensuring material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible, as needed
  • Develops, documents, and implements inspections policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspection reports and their findings
  • Develops and monitors compliance, health, and safety procedures for all areas of the company
  • Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics
  • Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and / or pollutants, as required
  • Quality control; ensuring the project meets client standards, regulatory requirements, and project and customer specifications
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Skills / Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of safety regulations and policies
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in technology and equipment used in safety inspections
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
  • Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required
  • Five years of related experience
  • Requirements

  • Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time
  • Microsoft Office experience is a requirement.
  • Pass a criminal history background check including a social security number verification.
  • Pass a drug test.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States (I-9)
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
