Overview

Position : Commercial Sales Engineer

Status : Full-time

Location : West Michigan

Responsibilities

  • Primary focus on generating Carrier Great Lakes Commercial product sales including, but not limited to, Rooftop Units, Split Systems, Building Automation, DOAS Units, and Ductless & VRF Systems through pre-sale design / application support, quoting plan & spec take-offs, and design build projects.
  • Maintain relationships with established accounts to maximize sales opportunities
  • Develop new business through prospecting & account acquisition to maximize sales
  • Maintaining and update project quote files.
  • Follow-Up on projects post-bid to ensure high closure rate.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of all CGL products available
  • Provide post sale jobsite visits when needed to achieve customer satisfaction
  • Establishing and maintaining good relations with customers by providing prompt and courteous service for all customers, both in person and over the phone.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 5 years HVAC sales experience.
  • Experience selling to Contractors, Consulting Engineers, and Owner community.
  • Knowledge of HVAC design and application tools.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication, negotiation skills, and customer focus.
  • Qualified candidates will have both a business and a technical background.
  • Good computer skills and common software literacy.
  • Efficient at Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
  • Solid critical thinking, problem-solving and planning skills.
  • High level of personal accountability; sense of urgency and self-initiative is a must.
  • Highly motivated self-starter, able to work with minimal direction required from management.
  • Qualifications

  • Experience working with HVAC contractors & engineers.
  • Knowledge of a distribution environment.
