Job description
Duties :
- Assist nurses and other healthcare professionals in providing direct patient care.
- Perform basic nursing procedures under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and feeding patients.
- Help patients with mobility and transfers.
- Collect specimens for laboratory testing.
- Monitor patients' condition and report any changes to the nursing staff.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe patient environment.
- Follow proper aseptic technique to prevent infection transmission.
- Provide catheter care as needed.
Experience :
Previous experience as a nursing assistant or similar role is preferred but not required.Familiarity with medical terminology and anatomy is beneficial.Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality is essential.Experience with electronic health record systems such as Epic is a plus.Skills :
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.Proficient in taking accurate vital signs and recording them correctly.Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of a nursing assistant training program is preferred.Current certification as a nursing assistant (CNA) is highly desirable but not always required, depending on state regulations.Must have a valid CPR certification.Note : This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position.
