Summary : Under the general supervision of an Assistant Nurse Manager, Head Nurse, Nurse Manager, or other higher-level nurse or health care professional, incumbents of this class provide professional nursing care in an assigned clinical area.
The Transplant Call Night Coordinator is a critical member of the transplant team, responsible for overseeing and coordinating all transplant-related activities during overnight hours. This includes managing organ offers, coordinating transplant surgeries, patient education, facilitating communication between internal teams and external partners (e.g., OPOs, transport services) and ensuring compliance with clinical and regulatory protocols. The role ensures 24 / 7 continuity of care for transplant patients and supports optimal organ utilization and patient outcomes.
Work is subject to shift assignment over a 24-hour, 7 days per week period.
Supervision is not a regular responsibility of this class. However, partial supervision may be exercised over paraprofessional and ancillary staff in the delegation of some components of the nursing regimen. Does related work as required
Education : Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
License, Certification, and Registration : Current license in New York State as a Registered Professional Nurse. Certified in Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
