Job Description
The Principal Learning and Development Partner serve as a strategic business partner, driving organizational performance and competitive advantage through targeted talent development initiatives. This role partners directly with senior business leaders to translate strategic objectives into comprehensive learning solutions that accelerate business results. As a trusted advisor this role shapes organizational capability, fosters innovation, and builds a learning culture that enables Western Digital Corporation to achieve its strategic goals.
Responsibilities & Duties
Strategic Business Partnership
- Partner with executive leadership and business unit heads to align learning strategy with business priorities and organizational transformation initiatives
- Serve as a trusted advisor on talent development, providing strategic insights and recommendations to drive business performance
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to identify critical capability gaps and develop learning roadmaps that support long-term business objectives
Strategic Learning Design & Innovation
Lead comprehensive organizational needs analyses to uncover performance drivers and strategic learning opportunitiesDesign and architect enterprise-wide and functional learning solutions that directly impact key business metrics and competitive positioningChampion innovative learning approaches and emerging technologies to scale learning across teams and geographiesLeverage AI-powered content creation tools and advanced learning authoring platforms to develop scalable, personalized learning experiencesUtilize artificial intelligence to optimize content curation, adaptive learning pathways, and automated content generationBusiness Impact & Performance Consulting

Bachelor's degree in Business, Organizational Development, Psychology, or related strategic fieldProven track record of partnering with C-suite and senior business leaders on strategic initiativesStrong business acumen with ability to understand market dynamics, competitive landscape, and organizational strategyExecutive presence and ability to influence senior stakeholders across the organizationProven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives and drive organizational changeMastery of adult learning principles, instructional design, and performance improvement methodologiesAbility to define learning measurement strategy and make changes based on the dataProficiency with AI-powered content creation tools, learning authoring platforms (e.g., Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia), and emerging learning technologiesExperience leveraging artificial intelligence for content development, personalization, and learning optimizationProficiency with advanced learning technologies, LMS platforms, and learning analytics toolsKnowledge of industry best practices in talent development and organizational learning
