General Surgery – Locum Tenens | August 2025 Start | Ohio

Open Dates :

August 1 (7a) – August 4 (7a)

August 15 (7a) – August 18 (7a)

August 22 (7a) – August 25 (7a)

Ongoing : ~5–7 days / month (additional dates TBD)

Job Description :

Seeking a Board-Certified General Surgeon to provide hospital-based call and trauma coverage at a Level 3 Trauma Center. Responsibilities include general surgery consults, adult trauma care, and coordination with APPs as needed.

Details :

Call Coverage : 24-hour call; 15–20 calls / day

Avg Surgical Cases / Day : 10

Trauma Level : III

Annual ER Volume : 27,000

EMR : Epic

Operating Rooms : 10

Age Demographics : Adults (18+)

Experienced OR team; robotic and general surgery procedures supported

Required Procedures :

General adult and trauma surgical cases

Central line insertion

PA catheter placement

Chest tube insertion

Vascular access devices

Cholecystectomy, hernioplasty

Appendectomy, bowel resections, trauma-related intra-abdominal procedures

Candidate Requirements :

Board Certified in General Surgery

BLS, ACLS, ATLS (Required)

Active OH license (No IMLC)

Clean background and malpractice history

Recent case logs (last 12 months) – required for submission

Must be available for all August dates

Ohio-based candidates preferred

Credentialing :

Estimated timeframe : 60–90 days
