Job Description

As a Security Officer - Armed Arrestee Transport in Largo, FL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Corrections, and more.

As a member of the Allied Universal team assigned to a corrections environment, you will be responsible for armed patrols and monitoring designated areas to help to deter security-related incidents. This position requires both armed and driving responsibilities. You will remain visible throughout your shift, provide exceptional customer service, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors. What You'll Do :

Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites

  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Carry out security-related procedures and site-specific policies within a corrections environment, maintaining a professional presence at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and guidelines.
  • Provide customer service by assisting staff, visitors, and / or inmates with inquiries and directions as appropriate to the location.
  • Monitor access points and verify identification to help to deter unauthorized entry or exit from restricted areas.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents or unusual activities according to Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Collaborate with facility staff and law enforcement as needed during emergency response activities.
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings and communicate any potential security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Must be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or have equivalent experience.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Must provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience in law enforcement, military, or corrections.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
