Yard Person
The Yard person performs a wide range of physically demanding tasks, carrying, lifting, loading and delivering construction materials using trucks, forklifts or wheelbarrows.
Roles and Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions) :
- Checks daily construction schedule to keep apprised of material and supplies needed on the job.
- Loads and delivers material and supplies to job sites.
- Unloads material and supplies from vendors' delivery trucks at yard. Check accuracy of delivery and sign receipts for materials and supplies.
- 5S's stock yard on a regular basis.
- Safely operates a forklift to load material and supplies. Completes the appropriate paperwork to use Company pickup truck and forklift.
- Performs assigned laboring jobs, product repair, salvage reclaim, cleanup.
- Wears a hardhat, safety glasses, steel-toed footwear, gloves, hearing protection, safety vest and respirator as needed.
- Regular and timely attendance is required.
- Additional duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
Education / Experience Required :
High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)Valid State driver's licenseBasic mechanical skills neededWork Requirements :
Successful completion of OSHA TrainingTask training on an as needed basisStrict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.Must be willing to work nights and weekends when required.Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas as stated by OSHA and / or MSHA.Knowledge / Skill Requirements :
