Under close supervision of nursing leadership, supports provider practice by assisting with direct patient care duties, including patient call backs and refill request. May perform diagnostic testing, maintain supply inventory levels, and clean and maintain medical equipment. Carries out all duties while maintaining compliance and confidentiality and promoting the mission and philosophy of the organization.

Essential functions include : Rooms patients, takes and documents vital signs and prepares patients for provider exam. Administers medication under physician's direction and within the scope of practice as demonstrated by completion of training and testing. Performs diagnostic testing such as EKGs, audiograms, typanograms, spirometry, and visual screenings as instructed and documents in EPIC EMR. Responsible for reviewing both Provider refill in basket and assisting with daily medication refill request using the ARC refill protocol. Responsible for reviewing EPIC triage call in basket for any callbacks. Responsible for reviewing result note in basket and calling / informing patients of normal lab results. Ensures rooms are properly stocked and supplies are current and within expiration dates. Cleans patient rooms as needed, including proper handling of dirty laundry. Ensures laundry cart is stocked with fresh linens on a daily basis. Follows directions given by nursing team leader or supervisor. Follows clinic protocols. Provides patients with educational materials as directed. Adheres to all company policies, including but not limited to, OSHA, HIPAA, compliance and Code of Conduct. Regular and dependable attendance. Follows the core competencies set forth by the Company, which are available for review on CMSweb. Works holiday shift(s) as required by Company policy.

Other duties and responsibilities may include answering incoming phone calls coming into nursing triage, determining if the call is low acuity or high acuity by demonstrating strong listening skills, forwarding to the appropriate clinical staff member on duty if the call requires any clinical intervention, utilizing the smart phrases when taking any phone messages and routing directly to the provider, posting patient test results through patient's mychart portal, refilling medication following the ARC refill protocols, assisting providers with procedures by setting up equipment, assisting with patient preparation, and cleaning and storing equipment after exam. May maintain equipment (autoclaves, sterilizes, washes speculums, checks expiration dates, etc). Performs other duties within the scope of the unlicensed personnel as assigned.

Qualifications include : Education and experience required : High school diploma or equivalent. Required to meet one of the following : Medical Assistant experience, or CNA / EMT / PCT (or other comparable experience) providing direct patient care, beyond Activities of Daily Living, including experience taking manual vitals and giving medications and / or injections, or Graduate of a medical assistant program. Preferred : Six (6) months or more experience as a Medical Assistant. Certificate / License : Medical Assistant certification preferred. Current AHA approved Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course completion card or within 60 days of hire required.

Work Schedule : Monday - Friday 8 : 00am-5 : 00pm, department float for FM, Pedi and Neuro
