About The Position

Must-Have :

Must be flexible with weekend requirements.

Travelers must be able to work 50% of the weekends in their contract.

Refusal to float may end in termination of contract.

Must agree to the possibility of precepting and / or being assigned students to shadow while on assignment.

Description :

This position requires flexibility with weekend scheduling based on unit needs.

Travelers are expected to have a minimum of two years of experience.

Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care, including Med-Surg, PCU, and ICU.

All travelers are required to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed.

Call-ins for contracted shifts require the traveler to make up the day during the pay period or add shifts to the end of their contract if unable to do so.

Pending operational needs, charge nurse responsibilities may be assigned with appropriate training and resources.

Patient diagnoses include cardiovascular surgical procedures, peripheral vascular surgical procedures, arrhythmias, endocarditis, and CHF exacerbation.

Staffing ratios are typically 1 : 5-6 during the day and 5-6 during the night.

This position requires proficiency in telemetry and IV start skills.

Candidates must also be skilled in blood product administration, central line care, management of dysrhythmias, and peripheral line care.

A successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to manage non-invasive airway techniques and oxygen administration.

Documentation may be required in specific electronic charting systems.
