Light Equipment Operator

Douglas County Public Works is offering a full-time position with a competitive full-family benefit package. This position is eligible for representation by the TEAMSTERS LOCAL UNION NO. 223. Onsite (courthouse complex) childcare is available at a discounted employee rate through Roseburg Professional Childcare (Fowler St. location only). Availability is subject to center waitlist.

Job Summary : This position operates moderately complex road maintenance equipment used in road repair and maintenance; performs routine maintenance on equipment.

Essential Functions :

• Operate loader to load trucks with slide, stockpile or ditching materials; backhoe in ditch cleaning and culvert installation projects.
• Operate light to medium sized equipment, such as : five to 12-yard dump truck with trailers, snow plows, water truck, roller and related equipment. Load and safely transport equipment and materials. Perform pre-trip inspections.
• Perform repair on assigned equipment; includes minor maintenance and servicing, etc.
