JOB TITLE : Assistant Project Manager | Commercial Interiors

LOCATION : New York City, NY

CLASSIFICATION : Full Time - Exempt - Salaried

COMPENSATION : $90,000-$110,000 base salary (depending on experience)

An established and growing Commercial General Contractor based in New York City is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support ongoing interior buildouts across retail, corporate, high-end residential and commercial spaces. POSITION SUMMARY

The Construction Assistant Project Manager will work closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to assist in the planning, coordination, and administration of interior projects. This individual will be responsible for document control, subcontractor coordination, procurement tracking, and ensuring timely communication between field and office teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in managing project schedules, budgets, submittals, RFIs, and change orders
  • Maintain and track project documentation including drawings, contracts, and logs
  • Coordinate subcontractor scopes, proposals, and buyouts
  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers to manage material orders and deliveries
  • Support daily project reporting and internal updates to ensure alignment across teams
  • Attend project meetings and generate meeting minutes as needed
  • Assist with punch list tracking, closeout documentation, and turnover packages
  • Interface with clients, architects, and consultants in coordination with the PM

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working for a general contractor on commercial interiors, residential interiors, retail, or corporate interior projects
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Procore, or similar construction management platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work on-site and travel to job sites throughout New York City as needed
