American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring 3 years of critical care experience, strong PCU skills, and current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the ICU with required floating to PCU and potential float to affiliate hospitalsPatient population includes ARDS, COPD, STEMI, NSTEMI, DKA, acute kidney injuries, UTIs, and acute shockHigh nurse-to-patient ratios may be requiredNight shift with 3x12 hour shifts from 19 : 00 to 07 : 00Care involves complex cases, including post-cardiac surgery, renal failure, stroke, and ventilated patientsUses Cerner EMR; Cerner charting experience requiredAll travelers must float within the hospital and to affiliate hospitals as neededStrong infection prevention, isolation, and PPE usage requiredMust be able to titrate drips, manage ventilators, and handle emergency interventionsExpected to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the assignmentRed scrub tops and black bottoms requiredFree parking available on siteFirst-time travelers are not accepted for this positionLocal candidates are not accepted for ICU positionsPerm or PRN employees must have a 12-month gap before returning as a travelerTime off requests of 5 days or fewer are auto-approved; longer requests need facility approval\n \n Requirements\n
Active IN or compact RN license required; pending license accepted with proof of applicationThree years ICU or strong PCU RN experience required (less may be considered based on experience)Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required; AHA & RQI acceptedGraduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program requiredSkilled in dysrhythmia interpretation, management of IV drips, ventilator care, EKG, ABG analysis, and procedural sedationExperience with post-cardiac surgery care, stroke management, and advanced airway management required\n Benefits\n
