Sterile Processing Technician
Job Description
Purpose & Scope :
Responsible for cleaning and decontaminating medical equipment and instrumentation; preparing sterile procedure trays and equipment; operating steam, low temperature sterilizers, and any other type of sterilization equipment used within CSP; maintaining sterile / clean storage / and all other department areas; answering phone and service door; delivering requested items; completing all required documentation on activities; maintaining the standards of the organizations mission, goals, and safety behaviors; and assisting in other areas as requested. Participate in the training and in-service programs for staff, and students. Assumes responsibility and accountability at all times for quality performance and represent the CSP department in a positive and professional manner at all times.
Education :
High school diploma or equivalent and an accredited course on central service technician training are preferred.
Experience :
Two years of sterile processing experience is preferred.
Certification / Licensure :
Certification in sterile processing is preferred.
