Outpatient Surgery / Observation Coder - Remote (R10207) Location : Remote (U.S.-based only; secure remote setup with VPN access required) Employment Type : Full Time Hourly Rate : $26.80 / hr Position Overview : Greenlife Healthcare Staffing is seeking a skilled Outpatient Surgery and Observation Coder to play a critical role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in coding for a major academic medical center. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a large hospital setting and be proficient with EPIC / 3M systems. Why Join Us? Qualifications : Education : High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management preferred. Licensure : AHIMA certification as RHIT or RHIA required. (CCS may be considered with equivalent experience). Experience : Minimum of 3 years’ experience coding outpatient surgery and observation encounters in large hospitals (700 beds). Prior experience in a trauma center is highly desirable. Technical Skills : Strong knowledge of CDI reconciliation workflows. Must have VPN-ready, secure computer equipment. Soft Skills : High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to meet productivity standards. Key Responsibilities : Code outpatient surgery and observation encounters using EPIC / 3M. Apply correct leveling, carve-outs, and infusion charging. Meet productivity benchmarks : 2–3 charts / hour. Submit coding promptly within a 4-day discharge hold window. Collaborate with CDI and respond to queries in a timely manner.
