Packaging Engineer – Specification Data Analyst

The Packaging Engineer – Specification Data Steward will be responsible for leading the cleansing and validation of packaging specification data to support business continuity, compliance, and future innovation. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of packaging data to match actual packaging components globally across the organization, working in a dynamic, collaborative, and often self-driven, independent environment.

As a Packaging Engineer – Specification Data Steward, you will take ownership of reviewing, standardizing, and updating packaging specification records, ensuring alignment with global data standards and business requirements. You will collaborate closely with R&D, Supply, Commercial, and Data Management teams to deliver high-quality, reliable packaging data that supports operational excellence and innovation.

What are we looking for?

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering, Packaging Science or relevant degree plus equivalent Packaging Engineering experience.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in packaging engineering, data management, or related fields.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and analytical skills, with demonstrated experience in data cleansing, validation, or specification management.
  • Familiarity with packaging materials, formats, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience working with packaging specification systems, databases, or PLM tools is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in the food, consumer goods, or manufacturing industry is a plus.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Review, cleanse, and validate existing packaging specification data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Identify and resolve data inconsistencies, discrepancies, and gaps in packaging records.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Supply, and Data Management teams to reconcile data, to ensure it matches what is being produced
  • Document data cleansing processes, decisions, and changes for audit and knowledge transfer purposes.
  • Ensure packaging specification data meets regulatory, quality, and business requirements.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on data cleansing progress, challenges, and outcomes to project stakeholders.
  • Contribute to building best practices in packaging data cleansing and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support ad-hoc packaging data projects as required by the business.
  • Support the migration and integration of cleansed data into new or existing packaging specification systems
