We have an exciting opportunity for a Genesis Analysis / Software Engineer to join the team!

We are actively searching for qualified candidates for this potential opening; however, we do not have assurance at this time when the position will be finalized and opened. Because we have strong reason to believe the position will be approved soon, we are proceeding with identifying qualified candidates and conducting interviews.

The Genesis Analysis / Software Engineer will :

• Work on NASA's Genesis Development and Analysis Team, which provides software development and analytic support for a variety of NASA and commercial programs using the Genesis Flight Mechanics Simulation tool.
• Develop multi-body parachute system modeling and perform analysis of ascent, aerocapture, entry, descent, landing, and trajectory design across the Orion and commercial crew programs.
• Provide software development and scripting of NASA's Genesis Flight Mechanics Simulation tool and related applications.
• Design and execute analyses to compare the performance of different guidance algorithms.
• Demonstrate the use of Core Flight Systems (cFS) in Genesis.
• Develop, integrate, and test new algorithms for evaluation of vehicle and mission performance.
• Integrate Genesis with Core Flight Systems and other trajectory software and tools.
• Develop requirements documentation for mission design products.
• Provide recommendations for improvements in design and software development processes.
• Perform other duties as required.
