Overview
The Store Manager in Training role focuses on hands-on training to prepare for a management position in another store or future location. You will assist the store manager in sales, appearance, and overall store operations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the professional and retail operations of the store and team members involved. Professional : all delivery and installer service specialists; Retail : all parts and merchandising specialists.
- Supervise work performed by all team members assigned to the store / HUB store, working with the district manager and store manager on recruiting, testing, hiring, evaluating, promoting, disciplining, and discharging staff under supervision. Communicate information from Team Weekly and monthly store managers' meetings to all team members.
- Train new team members; conduct performance evaluations and recommend pay increases.
- Assist in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and participating in interviews, and evaluating candidates to ensure qualified hires.
- Support the store manager with the assistant management team to ensure safety compliance and that staff receive appropriate training in all areas. Monitor and reinforce safety expectations.
- Make sales calls with or without the store manager; may be assigned a schedule for weekly customer calls.
- Assist the store manager in store operations as assigned.
- Maintain the delivery fleet and keep records for each vehicle. Ensure staff keeps the store / HUB store neat, clean, and organized. Learn electronic scheduling, timekeeping, and payroll entry functions.
- Learn to manage components of gross profit : monitor returns for core and warranty abuse; review price matches and overrides for proper use; review productivity and KPI dashboard daily; review monthly P&L with the store manager and discuss opportunities.
