Responsibilities
- Plan, order, and prepare cutting lists. Process meat according to department goals and standards to maximize sales and gross profit.
- Ensure correct ordering, receiving, unloading, storage, and rotation of merchandise and displays.
- Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one-on-one development discussions; participate in the bi-annual performance review process for merit increases.
- Attend and participate in in-store meetings.
- Recruit, hire and collaborate with the Store Manager on promotion / transfer decisions.
- Address Team Member concerns with independent judgment.
- Take corrective actions as needed, including collaboration with business and HR on coaching, counseling, progressive discipline, suspension, or termination when necessary.
- Create and adjust schedules to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members.
- Lead a team that delivers quality product, high service levels, and a superior customer experience.
- Serve as a Key Carrier for the store and / or act as Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed.
Qualifications
At least 18 years old with basic math, weights and measures knowledge; minimum 2 years of meat cutting experience in grocery or restaurant settings, including leadership experienceAbility to perform related duties as assignedAbility to stand up to 4 hours continuously; up to 8 hours per shift; may walk up to 2 miles per 8 hoursAbility to work in a temperature-controlled areaGood vision for using knives, band saw, grinder, sausage maker, box cutter, wrapping machine and tenderizerAbility to lift / carry 25–90 lbs. and move items up to 10 feet for up to 20 hoursAbility to operate a pallet jack and move pallets up to 500 lbs. for up to 5 hoursAbility to move racks up to 70 lbs. for up to 10 hoursAbility to move tables up to 70 lbs. for short distancesFlexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidaysWorking knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goalsOutgoing, friendly demeanor with a positive attitude toward team members and customersBenefits
