A company is looking for an Atmospheric Scientist to join their Model Development Group.
Key Responsibilities
Collect, analyze, and process large atmospheric data sets from various sources
Develop and validate stochastic precipitation models for catastrophe risk assessment
Collaborate with hydrologists and engineers to represent flood events accurately
Required Qualifications
M.S. or PhD degree in Atmospheric Science, Hydrometeorology, or Applied Statistics
Proficiency in programming languages such as R, FORTRAN, BASH scripting, Python, and / or C++
Thorough understanding of probability and statistics
Experience in modeling atmospheric processes related to extreme precipitation
