The Airside Operations Manager leads a frontline team of AATC professionals responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall operational readiness of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The Manager develops and implements strategies and procedures to maximize performance among the Airside Operations Team and will lead a start-up department focused on strategic initiatives to enhance the operational environment. The team will have primary responsibility for executing the annual snow removal plan during inclement weather. The Manager will maintain financial discipline as it applies to the department budget, oversee staffing, training, scheduling, and accountability, and serve as a point of contact for airport agencies and the AATC team. Schedule is primarily 3rd shift with flexibility to adjust to 1st shift as needed. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Airside Operations Team with training, motivation, performance appraisals, and adherence to company policy.
- Foster a culture of safety by actively promoting and enforcing team-wide adherence to established safety practices and organizational policies.
- Ensure adequate coverage and leadership across all shifts.
- Oversee various ramp activities including, but not limited to, cleaning, pad washing, curb and roadway cleaning, pallet collection, spine / dumpster cleaning, and exterior window washing.
- Improving operational efficiencies and performance through analytics, processes, accountability, and communication with key stakeholders to drive results.
- Build and execute strategic initiatives to establish a start-up department aligned with corporate objectives.
- Participate in identification, planning, and implementation of initiatives to improve and maintain the condition of the operational environment.
- Represent AATC as required, including attendance at assigned meetings, airport functions, and industry events.
- Responsible for budget planning and management of the Airside Operations overall budget.
Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum of 10 years' facility maintenance experience is preferred.Previous leadership experience with direct reports is required.Demonstrated mechanical aptitude or prior mechanic / technician experience required.Preferred qualifications include secondary education in facility management, business administration, or a closely related discipline. Proven ability to work independently as a self-starter with minimal supervision.Strong financial acumen, including preparing and managing large budgets.Tactical experience in an operational environment, including scheduling, staffing, prioritization, and workflow management.Strategic vision to build and develop a department from the ground up to meet corporate objectives and needs.Commitment to maintaining a safety-driven culture.A valid driver's license is required subject to a driving history review. Driving record must be void of recent major moving violations.Must be able to pass requirements for approval for an ATL badge with customs seal. This includes a 10-year background search by fingerprint analysis.Advanced skills in MS Office suite, including Excel and PowerPoint, and can clearly present and articulate ideas. Experience with Infor EAM is a plus.Must be available twenty-four hours per day, seven days a week to provide support during planned or emergency situations or events to include being physically on site if deemed necessary.Scheduled hours will be centered around 3rd shift primarily with a need to adjust schedules depending on requirements or needs.Seniority level
