As a Global Sourcing Intern, you will collaborate with divisions, sites, and world-class suppliers to source materials, products, goods, and services that drive a competitive advantage for the organization. The Global Sourcing Organization oversees strategic procurement activities within the Global Supply Chain Function at Boston Scientific. You will have the opportunity to partner with various stakeholders in executing projects aligned with sourcing category team strategies.
Your responsibilities will include :
- Participate as a key sourcing category team member in the execution of commercial projects linked to the strategic outcomes of our sourcing organizations.
- Interact with suppliers to drive sourcing & supplier initiatives linked to service, cost, contractual compliance, and resiliency.
- Help monitor market dynamics and communicate changes that affect internal client needs.
- Partner with internal clients and stakeholders to identify sourcing needs, conduct buyer / market profiles, share marketplace trends, share best practices, increase value proposition etc.
- Support team members with negotiations to deliver the best cost for products and services with supervision.
- Learn and utilize strategic sourcing methodologies including spend analysis, market research, benchmarking, negotiation, contracting and continuous improvement etc.
- Collaborate with team members for contract and vendor management activities such as strategic reviews and site visits.
- Support identification and mitigation of risk as well as service escalations.
- Support documentation for the annual budget process for all assigned suppliers.
- Seek out cost reductions with supply base at every opportunity.
Required Qualifications :
Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or dual master's degree majoring in Supply Chain or Operations graduating Fall 2026-Spring 2027. Internships are not intended for graduating seniors.Must be proficient in Microsoft ExcelMust be able to commit to the full 12-week internship program starting May 18th ending August 7thMust be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorizationMust have reliable transportation to commute to and from Boston Scientific's Arden Hills, Minnesota locationPreferred Qualifications :
Training or experience with cost modeling, data analysis, and project managementExcellent communication and collaboration skills
