Job Summary
The Director of Academic Programs & Compliance is responsible for providing strategic leadership for academic oversight, accreditation compliance, and continuous improvement efforts of USG eCampus. This role ensures effective governance of collaborative academic programs, management of faculty credentialing, oversight of curriculum leadership committees, and alignment of assessment plans with accreditation requirements. The Director implements policies and procedures to support quality, compliance, and accountability across consortia agreements and collaborative programs; in the Academic & Strategic Initiatives Unit of USG eCampus; and serves as a primary liaison to academic leaders across USG. The position requires a strong blend of academic expertise, accreditation knowledge, policy development, and stakeholder collaboration to ensure all academic oversight requirements are met with excellence.
Responsibilities
Academic Oversight & Curriculum Leadership (25%) -
Provide leadership and direction for curriculum leadership committees, including agenda setting, meeting facilitation, and alignment of committee work with organizational goals.
Convene Curriculum Leadership Committees each term and oversee the annual eMajor Academic Retreat.
Collaborate with institutional and faculty stakeholders to maintain academic rigor, curricular integrity, and quality standards in eCampus programs.
Partner with instructional design teams and committees to identify subject matter experts for course development, revision, and continuous improvement projects.
Faculty Credential Evaluation & Documentation (30%) -
Serve as the primary evaluator of faculty qualifications, reviewing academic transcripts, CVs, professional certifications, and relevant work experience to ensure compliance with accreditor and institutional requirements.
Maintain accurate, secure, and accessible faculty credential records across eCore, eMajor, FreeCampus, and other collaborative programs.
Coordinate with eCampus teams to ensure faculty meet qualification standards before assignment to courses.
Monitor and update credential files for new hires, reassigned courses, and evolving program requirements.
Prepare faculty credential documentation for accreditation self-studies, compliance reports, and site visits.
Assessment & Continuous Improvement (10%) -
Collaborate with academic leaders, committees, and program faculty to review and strengthen student learning outcome assessment plans.
Provide actionable feedback on learning outcomes, assessment methods, benchmarks, and data collection strategies.
Conduct workshops, training sessions, and consultations to build faculty capacity in assessment design and implementation.
Ensure assessment documentation includes results, analysis, and evidence of closing the loop for continuous improvement.
Align program- and course-level assessment practices with institutional and accreditor expectations.
Accreditation & Compliance Management (25%) -
Develop, organize, and maintain accreditation documentation and evidence repositories, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and accessibility.
Coordinate the collection and verification of evidence for institutional and programmatic accreditation reports.
Monitor changes in accreditation standards and communicate implications to stakeholders.
Prepare compliance reports, data summaries, and self-study materials for accrediting agencies.
Support internal and external audits by gathering, organizing, and presenting required documentation.
Maintain accreditation and compliance calendars to ensure timely completion of reports, reviews, and renewals.
Other Duties (10%) -
Implement and oversee annual cooperative academic agreements for all consortia arrangements.
Coordinate eCampus services for external system-level consortiums, ensuring academic quality, compliance, and clear documentation.
Collaborate with institutional partners to identify needs, define requirements, and implement solutions for academic oversight.
Partner with data teams to identify, develop, and coordinate reports and tools that support academic program monitoring and compliance.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Master's degree from an accredited institution in higher education administration, educational leadership, or a related field.
Other Required Qualifications
Strong understanding of regional and programmatic accreditation requirements.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and work collaboratively with multiple institutions.
Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
Required Experience
Minimum of five years of experience in academic leadership, accreditation compliance, or program oversight in higher education.
Demonstrated experience in faculty credential evaluation and documentation management.
Preferred Qualifications

Certified credit for prior learning assessor.
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Doctoral degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.
Preferred Experience
Extensive leadership experience in higher education, such as serving as a program coordinator, department chair, or in system-level academic administration.
Experience managing academic programs in a consortial or multi-institutional environment.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
