Your day to day as a PT Retail Assistant

As a Part-Time Retail Assistant at the Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland, you will start each day greeting customers with enthusiasm and providing exceptional service. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with inventory management, restocking shelves, and maintaining a welcoming store environment. You will collaborate closely with team members to create engaging displays that highlight our products while ensuring all items are organized and easily accessible. Daily tasks also involve processing transactions accurately and efficiently, addressing customer inquiries, and solving any issues that arise to enhance the shopping experience. Flexibility is key, as your schedule may vary with events and promotions.

Requirements for this PT Retail Assistant job

To succeed as a Part-Time Retail Assistant at the Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland, you'll need a high school diploma or equivalent and a commitment to excellent customer service. Your previous experience in retail or clerical settings will be invaluable, ideally encompassing one to two years in similar roles. Full computer literacy, particularly proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite-especially Word and Excel-is a must.

Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems and the ability to operate various office equipment, including fax machines, calculators, business phones, copiers, and postage machines, is essential for daily operations. Strong time management and organizational skills will help you prioritize tasks and maintain efficiency. A strong mathematical aptitude will aid in handling transactions accurately.

Being well-disciplined, a self-starter, and able to communicate tactfully, both in writing and verbally, will support a collaborative team environment that aligns with our mission.

Additional Knowledge and skills required for the position include excellent time management and organizational skills, a strong mathematical aptitude, be well-disciplined and a self-starter, the ability to communicate the written and spoken word with tact, diplomacy, and / or authority when necessary, and the ability to work well as a part of a team.
