River Hall Country Club , a semi-private golf and country club in Ft Myers, FL, is seeking Golf Course Maintenance Associates to join our team!

Pay : starting at $17.50 an hour

The position is full-time with benefits package including medical, vision, dental, 401k with company match, and paid time off.

River Hall Country Club is built within the gates of a masterfully planned community. The award-winning Golf Course provide all the elements for a beautiful, fun yet challenging round of golf. The Golf Course was designed by Davis Love III and opened for play in 2007. The 7,000+ yard masterpiece winds through the River Hall Community and maintains a focus on natural design. The heralded practice facilities include a 400-yard double sided driving range, 10,000 sq. ft. of putting surfaces with ample chipping and bunker areas and a short course.

Job purpose

Responsible for operating small equipment and performing all general hands-on grooming of the golf course and grounds.

Duties and responsibilities

• Keeps all equipment in good, clean working condition.
• Maintains a clean golf course and maintenance complex.
• Reports all problems regarding equipment to the Mechanic and or Assistant Superintendent.
• Completes duties as directed by supervisor in a timely manner.
• Demonstrates courtesy to all Members and Guests at all times.
• Obeys all safety procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Two years of golf course maintenance experience OR any equivalent combination of experience and / or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Working conditions

Work is primarily outdoors. Potential exposure to sharp and rapid equipment movement, sharp utensils, harmful chemicals and / or being exposed to flying golf balls.

Physical requirements

Good organizational and verbal skills. Ability to use logical and rational thinking to resolve issues. Ability to perform basic mathematical skills, monitors and develops subordinates, visually monitor the operation areas, write and read member communication.

Must have the ability to perform moderate physical work and may be required to lift up to 80 lbs., up to 40 lbs. frequently and up to 20 lbs. constantly. Perform activities such as bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, standing, pushing, lifting and grasping for up to 4 hours without sitting. Ability to consistently lift, carry and load adaptive and other equipment that may weigh 30 or more pounds, and sustain aerobic activity for 20 consecutive minutes.

Please be advised that all work that requires the use of a ladder more than 8 ft. long must be reviewed by Hampton Golf's Club Maintenance person. Following an assessment of the situation, a determination will be made as to whether a maintenance team member or subcontractors will perform the necessary maintenance task. No other staff member is authorized to climb to heights exceeding 8 ft. and / or perform such maintenance. In addition, personnel are prohibited from entering facility attics, walking on the roof of buildings and / or from using scaffolding.
