Job Summary : The Conflicts Attorney will be responsible for performing conflicts searches for new clients, new employees, new matters, and submissions across all offices as a key component of the Firm's new business intake and hiring processes. The employee must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive materials, and maintain strict confidentiality due to the nature of the position.
- Salary in the range of $90,000 – $120,000 dependent on experience level and geographic location
- Perform conflicts of interest searches and due diligence checks for incoming attorneys, staff, clients, and matters
- Analyze, review, and approve conflicts reports and identify possible areas of concern
- Manage all client / matter intake data and ensure data is accurate and adheres to established policies and procedures
- Identify misinformation and adjust search terms as needed to produce accurate results
- Collaborate with the Risk and Information Governance team to ensure all processes are properly documented, stored, and easily accessible
- Provide insight and suggestions for process improvement and stay abreast of industry trends related to the conflict of interest process
- Manage efforts to resolve conflicts and communicate resolutions with attorneys in the firm
- Draft and review waiver and engagement letters as directed by attorneys in all offices
- Develop screens for possible conflicts to ensure appropriate individuals do not access conflicting client and matter data
- Liaise with firm attorneys to identify business conflicts and take necessary steps to document and resolve those conflicts
Minimum Requirements :
Juris Doctorate (J.D.) and active license to practice law in the United States requiredTwo years of experience as a Conflicts Attorney or equivalent legal practice experienceStrong understanding of risk management and legal relationshipsAbility to independently identify conflicts of interest and resolve them effectivelyExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong research skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and problem solveAbility to manage complex legal information, document processes, and suggest solutionsStrong interpersonal skills for effective communication with internal and external clients at all levelsAbility to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalismAvailability to work remotely, after hours, as needed, and to produce results quicklyProficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and adaptable to new softwareAdditional Information : Candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the United States.
