Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Industrial Engineer (Level 3) or Sr. Principal Industrial Engineer (Level 4) to join our team on the exciting B-21 program at Edwards Air Force Base
The Industrial Engineering Team is an integral part of day-to-day operations and routinely collaborates with other organizations at Edwards Air Force Base. We seek applicants who enjoy working with peers and are eager to make a difference!
Responsibilities will include :
Analyzing lead times, queue times, work-in-process, cycle times, and throughput to meet customer demand effectively and efficiently.
Building scalable and sustainable models to optimize product flow, incorporating cost, schedule, and resource constraints.
Developing optimized scheduling tools and aligning SAP / MRP systems with an executable plan given various capacity constraints.
Incorporating complex interdependencies within a system to account for the interaction of multiple cost centers, programs, equipment, and tools.
Communicating requirements planning and systems framework with IT, ERP, business analytics, and data science teams.
Working with developers to design an interactive user interface effective at scheduling jobs across cost centers.
Guiding digital transformation efforts to align with sector and enterprise strategies.
Leading and driving positive change using iterative and agile methodologies.
Creating new metrics and data visualizations to monitor shop floor performance.
Completing time studies and following through with action items resulting from the study.
Basic Qualifications for Principal Industrial Engineer (Level 3) :
Bachelor's of Science degree with 4 years of Industrial Engineering, Project Management, or Manufacturing related experience in a manufacturing production environment; OR a Master's of Science degree with 3 years of Industrial Engineering, Project Management, or Manufacturing related experience in a manufacturing production environment.
Minimum 1 year of experience with EVMS (Earned Value Management System).
Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access.
Ability to travel at least 10%.
Must be able to work any shift.
Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Industrial Engineer (Level 4) :
Bachelor's of Science degree with 8 years of Industrial Engineering, Project Management, or Manufacturing related experience in a manufacturing production environment; OR a Master's of Science degree with 6 years of Industrial Engineering, Project Management, or Manufacturing related experience in a manufacturing production environment.
Minimum 1 year of experience with EVMS (Earned Value Management System).
Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access.
Ability to travel at least 10%.
Must be able to work any shift.
Preferred Qualifications :
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) degree preferred.
Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.
Flight test experience.
At least 2 years of demonstrated experience leading project teams.
Experience with SQL, VBA, Python, or other programming languages.
Experience with improving manufacturing workflow using optimization, modeling, or simulation methods.
Experience with agile methods of project management or development.
Strong experience designing visualizations in Tableau in a professional work environment.
Salary Range : $100,300 - $150,500
Salary Range 2 : $124,900 - $187,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
