Minimum Qualifications
5 years minimum experience in metal stamping tool design, including progressive, transfer, and / or draw dies.
Proficient in 3D AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
Knowledge of automation tool designs is a plus.
Good organizational skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Essential Functions
Responsible for drawing changes and updates.
Plan and perform engineering research, design development, or manufacturing engineering assignments.
Coordinate with engineering, tool & die shop, and production floor.
Design or redesign tools, jigs, dies, and fixtures for better efficiency.
Maintain records of all tool, jig, die, and fixture changes using current engineering documentation practices.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of all tool, jig, die, and fixture drawings.
Prepare detailed drawings according to assignments.
Organize and maintain drawing files in both physical and electronic formats.
Distribute prints to departments and obtain signatures upon delivery.
Interface with management, tool room, and production personnel.
Stay updated with the latest developments in tool and die design and production.
Lead continuous improvement efforts when applicable.
Reissue updated drawings and secure signatures.
Participate in in-house meetings and staff development exercises.
Perform other related duties as required.
Travel as needed.
