Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant Job Details

Location : Lansing, Michigan 48910 (Michigan healthcare jobs)

Setting : Level 3 Emergency Department (ED)

Position Type : Locum Tenens Physician Assistant (Travel Contract)

Start Date : October 1, 2025

End Date : December 31, 2025

Contract Duration : 13 weeks

Hours per Week : 36

Shifts : 12-hour shifts (11am–11pm; some 8am–8pm and 4pm–4am shifts available)

EMR System : Cerner

Annual ED Volume : 40,150 patient visits

Estimated Weekly Salary : $3,480–$4,130 per week

Physician Assistant Qualifications

Board Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) – Required

Active Michigan PA License – Required

ACLS and ATLS certifications – Required

DEA License – Required

Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department or urgent care experience

Clean background for expedited credentialing

Current immunization records (Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Flu, Covid, TB within 12 months, TDAP within last 10 years)

Must be local to Michigan – No exceptions

Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant Responsibilities

Independently manage patients in the ED fast track area ("VUE" – 10 beds)

Collaborate with attending emergency physicians available 24 / 7 for guidance and case review

Deliver high-quality, efficient emergency care to a diverse patient population

Document all patient encounters using Cerner EMR

Coordinate with residents, nurses, and other clinical staff to ensure optimal patient flow

Participate in patient admission and referral processes as needed

Adhere to hospital protocols and maintain compliance with all credentialing and healthcare regulations
