Job Title

Performs a variety of building maintenance and grounds work including but not limited to painting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, A / C repairs, and maintaining grounds in a clean, neat, and safe manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

• Performs interior and exterior building repairs.
• Works with interior and exterior household paint; repairs drywall, paints interior and exterior of building(s).
• Decides the amount of materials needed to perform repairs and maintenance work on new and existing projects.
• Performs carpentry repairs; installs doors, replaces doors and window frames, utility rooms, and cabinets.
• Inspects and repairs air-conditioning, heating systems and refrigerators.
• Inspects, repairs, and installs electrical and gas boilers.
• Repairs and installs plumbing equipment; repairs water lines; unclogs drain lines and repairs other related plumbing components.
• Reads and uses test meters to measure electric current and uses air conditioning gages.
• Performs trouble-shooting work; repairs electrical equipment and wiring in buildings.
• Performs the cleaning and operating of equipment, such as : spray paint guns, riding mowers, and other related mechanical equipment.
• Assists in maintaining good communication between staff, visitors, and other business contacts.
• Must follow all rules of telephone courtesy in all telephone communications.
• Will be required to drive a City vehicle for City business use.
• Performs general building and ground maintenance work; cleans, disinfects and maintains restrooms and maintains equipment used to perform work duties.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
