Shift : Second Shift (United States of America)

Details :

  • Part-Time, 16 hr / wk
  • Monday - Friday : 2 : 00 PM to 4 : 30 PM
  • Location : Lied Transplant Center at Nebraska Medical Center | Nebraska Medicine Omaha, NE
  • Mandatory Full-Time Training for the first 3 weeks : Mon - Fri, 7 : 00 AM - 3 : 30 PM

Position Overview Key Responsibilities

In-Person Role Not a remote position Face-to-face patient and public contact required Cross-training and floating to other desks are required

Patient & Visitor Services Serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors Provide wayfinding and escorting support Enforce visitation policies and manage vendor access Verify employee badges and patient appointments in the electronic health record

Performance Expectations Work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Meet productivity and quality metrics (e.g., work queues)

    Duties : Patient Access Associate

    Ensure patients, customers and staff are greeted in a professional, timely and efficient manner, screening those entering the organization efficiently to promote the safety of all patients, employees and providers while exceeding customer expectations and complying with all state and federal regulations and laws throughout processes of appointment confirmation, visitor validation, patient way finding / escorting, mask distribution and symptom screening. To complete items related to patient registration and other assigned Revenue Cycle tasks in accordance to policy and procedure. Coverage for position is required days and evening hours, 7 days a week including holidays with needs in various areas throughout the organization. Face to face patient contact required.

    Required Qualifications : Patient Access Associate

    High school education or equivalent required.

    Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six months of hire required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).

    Ability to work in a proactive self-directed manner required.

    Multi-tasking and problem solving abilities required.

    Demonstrates the ability to form and maintain working relationships within the organization to foster a team environment required.

    Ability to deal with difficult or challenging customer interactions and escalate to leadership as appropriate required.

    Preferred Qualifications : Patient Access Associate

    Prior experience working with customers or patients preferred.

    Experience with general office materials / equipment preferred.

    Depending on the position available, fluency in Spanish preferred.
