  • The role you will contribute :
  • The Coding Quality Education Manager, under general supervision of the Regional Coding Director, has direct oversight for the Coding Quality Education Coordinators within the Health Information Management (HIM) Coding department. This position is responsible for the Retrospect Review program, quality audits, coder education and operates in accordance with the requirements of the ICD-10-CM coding conventions and guidelines. Adheres to the AdventHealth policies and procedures while ensuring the adherence to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Maintains the confidentiality of employees, patients, and administrative staff. Actively participates in team meetings, develops, and presents educational sessions for Coders.

  • Responsible for the hiring, training, and development of Coding Quality Education Coordinators (CQE). + Supervises and directs daily CQE functions and task of CQE team members. + Ensures the completion accuracy, timeliness and frequency of staff work product. + Builds and maintains relationships across multiple disciplines to achieve common goals. + Collaborates with the Clinical Documentation team as it relates to coding processes. + Supports organizational efforts in coding, documentation improvement and billing accuracy. + Validates and ensures departmental metrics and productivity standards pertaining to CQE functions are met or exceeded. + Performs review functions associated with accurate CQE assignments on accounts. + Monitors the Retrospect Review process model for all facilities in the Central Florida Division North Region. + Collaborates with CDI and the Quality review team to review variances and establish criteria / guidelines for improved documentation consistent with clinical definitions and compliant with CMS coding guidelines. + Responsible for monthly quality reviews, DRG, RAC and post-payment audits. + Monitors sources of regulatory information and educates team members on updates. + Participates in training coders on appropriate coding guidelines. + Reviews coded accounts for quality opportunities. + Keeps abreast of coding guidelines, reimbursement requirements and brings identified concerns to the Regional Director of Coding. Qualifications
  • The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed :
  • Associate in Health Information Technology with RHIT registration required Required + Associate of Science Degree with CCS certification Required + Bachelor's in Health Information Management with RHIA registration Preferred + 5 Related Experience Required + Strong organizational and leadership skills. + Analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills. + Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate and communicate complex information in understandable terms to all levels of staff. + Computer proficiency required, in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams. + Ability to work in a matrix-management environment to achieve organizational goals. + Knowledge and understanding of coding standards. + Adaptable and flexible to other streams of work, beyond coding responsibilities. + Thorough knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, and pathophysiology. + Proficiency in Microsoft computer applications specifically Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint + Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) Required + Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) - Cert Required + Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) Required + Driver's License (DL) Required This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
