Status : Full-Time; Non-Exempt; Salary Range : $38,500 – $44,500
General Overview
The Education and Youth Support Specialist oversees daily operations at one elementary or middle school site. This role includes delivering youth literacy and development programming, supporting administrative tasks, and transporting students using an agency vehicle when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead afterschool programming and manage one assigned classroom
- Support daily site operations and collaborate with staff, AmeriCorps members, volunteers, and tutors
- Implement ESOL, youth development, and academic curriculum
- Promote positive behavior and address student concerns appropriately
- Maintain inventory and ensure proper use of program supplies and equipment
- Assist with administrative tasks and provide supervision to afterschool bus drivers
- Attend required trainings, events, and staff meetings
- Report suspected child abuse or neglect as mandated
- Adhere to New American Pathways policies to maintain a safe, inclusive environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
Strong organizational and communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office and database systemsValid Georgia driver's license with clean driving record; comfortable driving a 15-passenger vanAt least 1 year of experience working with youth under age 18Ability to work with and advocate for diverse communities, especially refugee youthBackground check requiredCommitment to the mission of New American PathwaysCompensation & Benefits
This full-time role offers a pay range of $18.51- $21.40 per hour ($38,500–$44,500 annually). Benefits include employer contributions to medical, dental, and vision insurance, employer-paid life and disability insurance, 15 paid holidays, and generous PTO.
