Physician Recruiter (MGM)
Reports to the Executive Director (BMG). Responsibilities include planning and development of physician strategies and implementing physician recruitment activities. Sources and interviews candidates, facilitates the selection, coordinates contract negotiations and manages relocation of physicians. Ensures that all appropriate testing and compliance requirements are completed. Maintains effective working relationships with individuals within Beacon Health System (BHS) and externally. Actively seeks to develop professional contacts through networking.

Performs physician recruitment functions by :
Sourcing candidates for identified needs through various approaches, which includes advertising, telephone, conferences, personal contacts, job fairs, presentations and physician recruitment agencies.Evaluating the best places to advertise and secure quality candidates.Conducting preliminary interviews and preparing profiles of candidates.Coordinating and participating in the on-site interviews of candidates, which includes scheduling interviews, meetings with key members of the medical staff, a tour of the community, a tour of the facility, contact with realtors (if applicable) and interview dinners and lunches; also gathering and summarizing the observations of all parties involved.Making travel arrangements as necessary.Validating and documenting references, education and required licenses / certifications.Assisting with the extension of an offer and the finalization of a written agreement.Maintaining ongoing contact with the successful candidate and addressing the candidate's needs prior to the commencement of their employment.Providing benefits and pay-related information to the successful candidate; also answering any questions they may have. Also following up (as necessary) regarding any paperwork that is required.Facilitating the various activities associated with relocation in conjunction with the Human Resources Department.Communicating with the Executive Director, in a timely manner, regarding possible problems and critical recruitment needs and / or issues.Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with relevant persons within, and external to, Beacon Health System by :
Developing and maintaining a positive and pro-active relationship with appropriate associations, physician residency programs and physician recruitment agencies.Ensuring the timely dissemination of information to appropriate parties regarding the recruitment and selection of physicians.Participating in developing growth strategies and programs.Performs administrative functions through the utilization of Physician Recruitment Management System - ACT by :
Monitoring progress in the identification and interviewing of candidates.Processing candidate information to the 'ready to hire' stage of the hiring process.Keeping candidates informed of their status throughout the recruitment process and notifying candidates of the selection decision on a timely basis, including those not receiving an employment offer.Logging and tracking job offers.Providing information regarding newly-hired physicians to the Human Resources Department in a timely manner (for example, so it can be entered into PeopleSoft).Identifying and evaluating trends on physician recruitment, including location-related conditions, economic conditions and competitive institutions in order to develop strategic plans to respond to these trends.Participating in the physician on-boarding process.Maintains personal competency and contributes to the overall effectiveness of Beacon Medical Group (BMG) by :
Attending in-services and department meetings; also participating in continuing education and attending conferences as approved.Collaborating with the Executive Director in the formulation of policies and procedures for the operation of the physician search function and the establishment of goals and objectives.Tracking the effectiveness of various recruitment approaches. Also developing other potential sources of candidates.Providing highest-quality customer service to all candidates.Providing input to the Executive Director on the development of an annual operating budget and activities to achieve the cost effective utilization of resources.Maintaining all related records and preparing reports as directed.Completing other job-related assignments and special projects as directed.ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The knowledge, skills, and abilities indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. A minimum of three years of prior recruiting work experience is required; physician recruiting experience is preferred.Knowledge & Skills
Demonstrates thorough knowledge of health care recruiting, employment law, professional recruiting techniques and standards, regulations and health care operations.Requires knowledge of Beacon Health System's compensation and benefits programs for physicians; also requires knowledge of health care operations.Demonstrates the communication skills (both verbal and written) necessary to interact tactfully with a wide range of contacts. Also requires presentation skills.Requires the interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships, interact effectively with physicians and other professionals and successfully negotiate employment contracts.Requires solid organization, planning, decision making, negotiation, problem-solving and analytical skills.Requires the ability to exercise diplomacy, discretion, sound judgment and flexibility in various situations; also must maintain confidentiality.Requires the ability to be attentive to details and to follow up on various activities in a timely manner.Requires proficient computer skills.
