Nurse Assistant - 6th Floor Med / Surg - Full-Time - Midnights

Location : Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital, 2333 Biddle Ave, Wyandotte, MI 48192

Schedule :  36 hours per week, every other weekend and holiday rotation

Shift :  7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM (3x12 hours shifts)

As a Nurse Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring patient comfort, safety, and well-being. Working under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), you will assist with essential patient care tasks and actively contribute to a positive patient experience.

About Our Unit

Our 48-bed Medical Surgical Unit cares for patients through many different phases of their healthcare journey. You'll work alongside a skilled and compassionate team supporting patients with a wide range of needs — from post-surgical recovery to treatment for acute infectious diseases requiring IV antibiotics, to management of chronic conditions during flare-ups. We also provide dignified, compassionate care for patients and families during end-of-life support.

What You'll Do

Your day-to-day impact includes :

• Performing routine tasks such as measuring and recording vital signs, collecting and labeling specimens including blood draws, and performing venipuncture and chemsticks.
• Assisting with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges as directed by the RN.
• Providing compassionate, hands-on personal care, including bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting, mobility, and comfort.
• Communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to support seamless care delivery.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.

Education / Experience Required

To qualify, you'll need a high school diploma or equivalent and one of the following :
