Reporting to the site early enough to start work at 7 : 00am and be prepared to work up until 3 : 30. JOB DESCRIPTION Position Title Laborer Reports To : Superintendent Position Summary The laborer performs tasks involving physical labor at various jobsites. The position may operate a variety of hand and power tools and may clean and prepare sites, clean up rubble and debris, and remove waste materials. The position may assist other craft workers. Essential Functions / Position Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
The Laborer is responsible for the following :
- Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor
- Maintains a clean jobsite, picks up tools and equipment and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards
- Building / Demolition
- Performs material handling and storage
- Loads and unloads trucks and hauls and hoists materials
- Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed, brings issues to the attention of the foreman and / or superintendent
- Provides assistance to craft workers
- Operate power tools
- Able to take direction from management and / or senior craftsmen
- Maintains a positive attitude
- Provide a good work ethic and effort towards all assigned tasks
- Able to be a team player
- Willingness to learn new tasks
- Share knowledge & help train others
- Ability to communicate clearly with the team on the jobsite
- Demonstrate consistent attendance on the jobsite
Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
