Job Summary
The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization to patients visiting for routine health testing or diagnostic insights. This role involves collecting quality blood samples, preparing specimens for lab testing, and ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the process. The PSR I exemplifies leadership, professionalism, and commitment to confidentiality while maintaining process accuracy and patient trust.
Key Responsibilities
Perform daily phlebotomy and specimen collection activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
Maintain a safe and professional environment for patients and staff.
Execute both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing according to established procedures.
Maintain accurate records, labels, and documentation to ensure data integrity.
Promote a positive organizational image and demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills.
Handle patient interactions with sensitivity, providing clear explanations of procedures.
Required Experience
Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience required.
Prior customer service experience in a retail, service, or healthcare environment preferred.
Keyboard / data entry experience required.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
Required Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, and WA).
