Job Description

An established insurance provider in Bedford Park, IL is hiring a Senior Guidewire / Java Developer to advance their enterprise system modernization. This role blends Guidewire expertise with Java backend development, making it a key position for enhancing and customizing core policy, billing, and claims applications.

\nThe company is seeking a senior-level engineer who can contribute to design, configuration, and development of insurance solutions while working closely with business and technical teams. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative environment where innovation and technical problem-solving directly support strategic growth.\nRequired Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of Java development experience
  • 3+ years working with Guidewire PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, or ClaimCenter
  • Strong understanding of software development best practices (Agile, DevOps, CI / CD)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

\n Desired Skills & Experience

  • Auto insurance industry knowledge strongly preferred
  • Experience integrating Guidewire with external systems
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable solutions

  • Tech Breakdown : 70% Guidewire development, 30% Java backend integration
  • Daily Responsibilities : Building and customizing Guidewire applications, collaborating with architecture teams, and driving system modernization initiatives
