Customer Service Representative
Mental Health Support Services (MHSS) is the provider of mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorder services for children and adults in Chesterfield County. Are you a customer service professional that anticipates needs and takes proactive steps? Great! We are currently seeking a Customer Service Representative to join a dynamic and enthusiastic team of customer service professionals who collaborate closely to deliver exceptional support and services to members of our community.
Minimum Qualifications : High school diploma or GED; one year of customer service experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience with an electronic health records system preferred. Those candidates with verbal and written fluency in both English and Spanish are encouraged to apply.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Working knowledge of the principles and practices of customer service; of standard office practices and procedures. Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with the public; to interact with a variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds and of varying ages; to perform mathematical calculations; to communicate effectively orally and in writing; to operate a personal computer and related software and other standard office equipment; to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers. Knowledge of agency programs and other community resources preferred.
Additional Requirements : Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check, and education / degree verification required.
Duties include but are not limited to the following : Answers Access Services calls, answers program service questions, and transfers calls to appropriate programs; researches and resolves customer issues; performs a variety of office support tasks (e.g. data entry, filing, copying); gathers and inputs client information into an electronic health record; screens and refers clients to an internal provider for assessment or to a community provider based on clients' preference; assists customers with their initial mental health service requests during walk-in visits or by telephone; provides general information on department programs and services; and performs other work as required.
This position is a part of an approved Career Development Plan (CDP) and offers career progression opportunities and salary incentives, as funding permits, based on performance, qualifications, and experience.
Shift : Monday - Friday; required to work 4 days / week; 9 : 30 a.m. - 3 : 30 p.m.; days may vary.
