Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a NJ or compact RN license with expertise in high-risk obstetric care.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is in a hospital Labor and Delivery unit
  • Patient population includes high-risk antepartum and obstetric cases with 200-300 births per month
  • Responsibilities include triage, IUPC use, central line maintenance, medication drips, and assisting with both vaginal and C-section deliveries
  • Day shifts available : 11 : 00am-11 : 00pm or 7 : 00am-7 : 00pm, 3x12 hour schedule
  • Documentation using Epic EMR; previous Epic experience preferred
  • Must be able to perform sterile vaginal exams, circulate for C-sections, and manage magnesium sulfate therapy
  • Orientation includes required onsite modules documented by transcripts
  • No travel pairs or groups will be accepted
  • Candidates must not have been a permanent staff member within the past year
  • No more than 3 days of requested time off will be approved and no time off allowed during the first week of orientation
  • Applicants must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be considered for a traveler position
  • First-time travelers accepted with required multi-facility L&D experience

  • Active NJ or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
  • Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years recent Labor and Delivery experience required
  • Experience in high-risk obstetric settings is necessary
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • Academic medical center experience preferred
  • Must have multi-facility L&D experience if applying as a first-time traveler
