About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Experience : Minimum 1 year

License : New York License required in hand

Certifications : BLS, NIHSS

Must-Have : Proficiency in Epic

Description :

Must have a New York license in hand - no exceptions.

Locals accepted : No, must be more than 75 miles from the facility.

NIHSS certification is required.

The unit specializes in the care of acute stroke patients and other neurological disorders.

It focuses on the care for the acute medical patient.

Practices an adjustable acuity delivery of care model providing evidence-based care.

Facilitates and optimizes stroke care during the primary prevention and acute care phases.

Able to manage a patient ratio of 1 : 5 to 1 : 7 for MedSurg.

Specializes in care for patients post-PCI, pacemakers, ICDs, and post-MI.

Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring and emergency response :

Interpretation of dysrhythmias and management of dysrhythmias.

Use of rapid response and code teams.

IV therapy and phlebotomy :

Peripheral line care and management.

Respiratory duties include the use of nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and portable oxygen tanks.

Able to perform non-invasive airway management.

Knowledge of isolation precautions is essential.
