Description :
Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan.
Demonstrates competency through the nursing process which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Upholds the standards of professional performance as outlined by the ANA.
Strives to achieve optimal outcomes in patient care.
Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Exhibits strong time management and organizational skills.
Demonstrates the ability to make quality, independent decisions.
Holds analytical and strong problem-solving skills.

Performs point of care testing as required.
Demonstrates a high standard of moral, ethical, and culturally sensitive behavior.
Assesses the needs of the patient and family, analyzing data to identify potential diagnoses or issues.
Identifies expected outcomes and develops an individualized interprofessional plan of care.
Evaluates patient and family educational needs and employs appropriate teaching strategies.
Initiates patient discharge planning at the time of patient contact.
Ensures accurate and timely documentation of required information.
Assumes a leadership role and delegates appropriately to facilitate safe, quality patient care.
Engages in professional development activities to advance knowledge and competence.
Participates in ongoing improvement initiatives that contribute to quality patient care.
Actively participates in safety initiatives and completes all safety-related competencies in a timely manner.
