  • Summary : We are seeking a versatile and proactive Medical Assistant to support both clinical and administrative functions within our personal care services team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys working with people, and is passionate about community-based healthcare.

    Education and Work Experience : Education equivalent to a high school diploma is required. At least 2 years of experience in a medical / healthcare administrative role is preferred. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent credential required.

    Nature & Scope-Principal Areas of Responsibilities : (This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time)

    Administer and read Tuberculosis (TB) skin tests for Personal Care Workers (PCWs).

    • Maintain accurate documentation of TB results and health records.
    • Assist with basic health screenings or follow-up tasks as needed.
    • Conduct orientation for newly hired PCWs ensuring comprehension with organizational policies, procedures, care standards, and complete all competency training and education.
    • Schedule and coordinate nursing shifts, ensuring coverage and compliance with care plans.
    • Support Human Resources and Nursing team with onboarding documentation and compliance tracking.
    • Office-based with 2-3 field visits or client interactions in the field per week (mileage reimbursement will be provided).
    • Contribute to a collaborative and supportive team environment.
    • Flexible scheduling may be required to meet operational needs.
    • Maintains confidentially adhering to the HIPAA laws and regulations.
    • Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement
    • Provide backup support to other administrative staff during peak periods or absences.
    • Assist with day-to-day office operations, including filling, data entry, and respond to inquiries.
    • Knowledge / Special Skills / Abilities Needed :

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to multitask and adapt to change of priorities.
    • Ability to read, write and speak English (Bilingual preferred.)
    • Proficient in basic computer applications (Microsoft suite, excel, and other computer software).
    • Demonstrates use of office-based equipment, i.e. copier, and scanner.
    • Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize work.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and use sound judgment and discretion successfully.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Essential Functions : Physical Demands : 80% sitting; 20% walking / standing; on occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The incumbent must occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.

      Specific vision abilities required by this position include Close vision, Distance vision and ability to adjust focus.

      Work Environment : This position is primarily an office-based position. Travel includes 2-3 field visits and client interactions. Physical demands described and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those and employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this position.
