Education : Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution. Certification : Must be board certified Licensure : Valid medical license to practice in the state of California. Experience : Must have experience in relevant field. Technical Skills : Proficiency in conducting medical examinations and interpreting results. Soft Skills : Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Conduct pre-employment physical examinations for various employee groups. Perform functional capacity evaluations / assessments (including ADA assessments). Complete Department of Motor Vehicle physicals and medical certifications Conduct fitness-for-duty evaluations and disability retirement evaluations. Administer and interpret drug screening tests (including DOT-regulated tests). Treat job-related injuries and provide COVID-19 testing and vaccines. Serve as a medical / legal witness and resource for City management.

Position Overview :
The City Physician provides comprehensive medical services for current and prospective City of Delano employees. This contracted position involves conducting various medical examinations, administering drug screenings, performing fitness-for-duty evaluations, completing DMV medical certifications, treating job-related injuries, providing COVID-19 testing, and administering vaccines. The City Physician also serves as a medical / legal witness and resource for City management.
