Casa Serena is an eating disorder, mental health and substance use program for women only. We are currently looking to add creative, compassionate and innovative individuals to the team at our outpatient facility in the position of Registered Dietitian!
As Santa Barbara's only licensed and accredited treatment program for women, we deliver high quality integral care in a collaborative team environment. Our unique curriculum is designed to help women and staff flourish. We believe in providing our staff with the resources and tools necessary to make a lasting impression on our vulnerable population.
Schedule : Part Time, onsite.
Primary Purpose and Function
The Registered Dietitian is responsible for providing nutrition therapy to clients with eating disorders and co-existing medical conditions and psychiatric diagnoses. This position works as a member of the interdisciplinary team to provide the most effective and efficient care possible.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Creates therapeutic and individualized client meal plans and conducts individual and group sessions with client based on level of care
- Works closely with team to aid in education and meal plan accuracy for clients
- Leads regular nutrition psycho-education groups focusing on the nutrition philosophy of balancing nourishment and pleasure to help clients restore a positive relationship with both food and body
- Conducts Movement Therapy in accordance with organization's curriculum
- Provides guidance and assists clients with real-life nutrition tasks such as meal planning, kitchen skills, and cooking
- Actively engages in on-going education related to nutrition therapy for the eating disorder population
- Assumes other duties as assigned by the leadership team
Requirements :

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program and registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)1+ years’ experience working as a Registered Dietitian; ideally with eating disorder clients, preferredExperience working as an active member of a multidisciplinary treatment team wouldStrong interest in eating disorder or behavioral health nutrition careExperience in a behavioral health treatment facility preferred.
