This posting is open to all qualified candidates. The Construction Management II (CM II) – Mechanical Inspector inspects and documents mechanical construction in an industrial environment. They ensure work is performed safely and correctly and in compliance with drawings and specifications. About The Role

The successful candidate provides inspection of mechanical construction activities including installation of pumps, piping, and all mechanical appurtenances found in a wastewater treatment plant or pump station. They are able to recognize correct and safe work, and work well coordinating construction activities with the team. The CM II is the second level in a three-level inspection classification group.

About The Team

WTD protects public health and enhances the environment by collecting and treating wastewater while recycling valuable resources for the Puget Sound region. Population growth in the region and changing regulatory requirements coupled with aging infrastructure are resulting in an expansion of our capital construction programs. Over the next ten years, WTD will deliver several billion dollars' worth of projects through a variety of contracting methods.

Job Duties

• Review submittals and shop drawings from contractors and subcontractors for conformance with contract plans and specifications.
• Ensure that construction is in compliance with contract plans and specifications.
• Prepare field notes and submit daily written reports regarding the projects in progress. Prepare other written reports as requested.
• Assist in contractual change order preparations and negotiations. Interpret construction schedules for progress impacts and slippage. Provide input as required for contract dispute resolution.
• Review and interpret engineering design drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with acceptable construction methods and wastewater treatment requirements. Provide written comments to project team during the design review process.
• Monitor the work performance of contractors and assist in the review of progress payment applications.
