  • Performance of high quality echocardiogram ultrasound imaging (TEE and TTE) to evaluate aspects of the heart including chamber size, valve function, and blood flow.

    Maintenance of equipment and proper care and handling according to manufacturer guidelines.

    Interdepartmental collaboration to ensure timely completion of procedures involving echo resources.

  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Performance of echocardiograms (TEE, TTE, SE as applicable per location) for inpatient and outpatient adults.
  • Participation in the Quality Improvement Program for the department.

    Proper maintenance and handling of equipment that is in compliance with manufacturer guidelines and organizational policy.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification as cardiac sonographer through CCI or ARDMS registry

  • within 6 months of hire
  • Graduate of formal cardiac sonography training program highly preferred.

    Knowledge of ultrasound techniques, principles and procedures.

    Competence with equipment preferred.

    PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Office / Clinical setting.
  • Communicates and collaborates frequently, in person and over the phone, with members of the care team in all locations.

    Hearing is needed for extensive telephone and in person communication.

    Lifting, pushing, pulling, standing, sitting and walking are requirements of the cardiac sonographer role.

    Must possess the ability to comply with Trinity Health policies and procedures.

    May be required to travel up to 10% between locations within the Region.

    Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
