Overview :

We are seeking a meticulous, detail-oriented Legal Proofreader with strong audio transcription skills to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you’ll be responsible for reviewing legal transcripts for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with formatting standards, as well as transcribing legal audio files with precision. If you have a keen eye for detail, excellent grammar skills, and experience working with legal terminology, we’d love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities :

Proofread legal documents for grammar, spelling, and formatting consistency.
Cross-check audio transcriptions for accuracy, ensuring adherence to legal terminology and proper citation styles.
Identify and correct typographical and grammatical errors.
Maintain strict confidentiality of all client documents and audio files.
Complete assignments efficiently to meet strict deadlines.

Qualifications :

Proven experience in legal proofreading or editing.

Familiarity with legal terminology and document formatting.

Proficiency in transcription, with an emphasis on accuracy in legal audio files.

Strong command of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Preferred Skills :

Previous experience working in a law firm or legal environment.

Knowledge of legal citation styles.

Experience with FTR, DCR, and Liberty Court Player or Stenographic software.
