Description

Receiving incoming material

• Organizing material in Conex box
• Processing issue and shipping documents
• Maintaining and tracking material and part requirements to ensure continued support of deployed systems and / or products
• Maintaining material database
• Maintaining inventory required by engineering drawings
• Coordinating with production for restocking of any unused material
• Providing information for the tracking and storage of government furnished equipment
• Providing status accounting to the customer and assures that material is on hand prior to work being accomplished
• Performing a variety of routine and / or low dollar value buying / purchasing tasks involving materials, supplies, or services
• Reviewing purchase requisitions, and places orders with approved suppliers
• Coordinating with the Accounting department as required to resolve questions on suppliers' invoices
• Reporting any discrepancies
• Performing monthly cycle counts
• Assisting production personnel when requested on the ship when logistical duties allow
• Working within a shipyard environment that consists of loud noises, fumes, and high / low temperatures
• Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times when working within designated areas in various weather conditions
• Filing and maintaining all supply support documents
• Maintaining inventory tracking via database and Excel spreadsheet
• Shipping material to final destination
• Employment is contingent upon receiving access to Newport News Shipbuilding shipyard by HII
